The Concord Singers is a non-auditioning women’s chorus that strives to achieve high quality through dedication and hard work. We offer a friendly musical home to both novice and experienced singers. Our members come from many age groups, professions and backgrounds.

About Concord Singers
The chorus was founded in 1977 as a function of the Summit Area Newcomers Club. It was service oriented, presenting concerts for church groups and people unable to get out and attend musical events. In 1979, the name was changed to the Summit Area Women's Chorus to reflect its independence from the Newcomers Club, subsequently it was named the Concord Singers,  It is currently under the direction of Michael Sanflippo, and accompanied by Caroline Parody. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from September to May at Calvary Church in Summit. We perform two main concerts a year; one celebrating spring in May, and a holiday event in December.

Our repertoire is varied and includes sacred and secular music. Composers range from the classical works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Mendelssohn to the more modern works of Gwyneth Walker, Rogers & Hammerstein, Z. Randall Stroope, Clifton Noble, Jr. and George Gershwin.

Funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Division of Cultural and Heritage Affairs.
